The “Inspirations Between Seasons” Mentorship is ready for sign ups!

This is a special program that will lead you on a journey to make your own discoveries using your camera by participating in a series of deliberate practice activities through the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers on a handful of people for a seven week on-line mentorship program which will include assignments, informative links, and informal yet informative and constructive discussions. Everyone must participate and it’s intended to be a safe and fun learning environment! Your actual number of assignments in 6. These are hands-on assignments. The first week is a greet and meet, get to know you bit, as well as a first assignment, and the final week is for a complete discussions for each participants final project.

Each opportunity I get to photograph and teach feels like I am embarking on a journey with life changing results. I have been blessed to have traveled to many places I never thought possible. My camera has led me on a life-altering creative path of discovery of myself and my surroundings. My growth with my photography is constant and deliberate. I work hard to push myself to discover new things, go to new places, meet new people and stay fresh by practicing, practicing, and more practicing. Learning is a constant.

I was an educator for 23 years and though I have retired, I remain a life long learner. My passion and determination have helped me learn and grow the skills I have today.
With regards to photography, I am self-taught and have learned from trial and error, hands-on approach while also attending classes, workshops, reading books and magazines, being proactive online, and in this last 2 years, I’ve achieved status of a Level 30 Apprentice and soon to be Master in The Arcanum. I have been a Photographer for 35 years. I now have the opportunity to combine my teaching experience with my passion and belief in practice to help others improve their photography, grow their art and themselves. My best practices approach to photography always starts and ends with the Basics, Always!

My goal for my mentees upon completion of my mentorship is for my mentees to make their own discoveries when motivation and inspiration seem to dissipate; to consider the basics of Photography, revisit those practices and perhaps discover new practices they would not have normally considered.

The focal points are: Shapes, Sizes, Patterns, Silhouettes, B&W Photography with emphasis on Tonality and Mood, and lastly, Dramatic Skies. Think of theses elements as separate entities but also as the building blocks of a single image or a series of images. Post some of your work based on these compositional aspects and give and received feedback. With the weekly assignments, my mentees will not only learn from their experiences but also learn from their fellow mentees' experiences, as well.

Duration: This is an Seven Week- Six Assignment Mentorship
Please Note With consideration to the Holidays I recognize that we may need a break; therefore a Holiday break will occur 21 December to 27 December.

Assignments are due on Sunday evening of each week and a new one posted on Sunday mornings.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to get the most out of this mentorship program, you will need to already have an understanding of using aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to create a proper exposure as well as familiarity of your camera settings.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: The work submitted to the Community must be current, in other words, you are to capture images based on the weekly assignment during that time period. (See Note Below- Week 6)

Selections will begin December 7, 2015 for the mentorship beginning December 14, 2015.

These are the selection criteria:

• You must be taking and posting your own photographs regularly here on the New and Improved G+ –– an absolute minimum of three days between Public posts; more increases your chances of being selected. (The class itself will be private to the group selected except for the option of a public display album of your best work at the end.)
• You must be interactive here at G+, as you will be expected to participate in this program giving feedback and comments to others.
