For anyone who has read this far, consider mentoring someone else here (or more) ... some people don't even know where to start with their cameras and you could be the change they need in their lives. Even the smallest bit of knowledge can be passed on and you can create your mentorship in many different ways. Imagine the feeling of taking someone to their next level, paying forward the knowledge you've received and watching someone blossom with enthusiasm and accomplishment!

Final Plus Post and Graduation Album
From September to December of last year I had the great pleasure to participate in the Beyond the Blur mentorship held by Alex Lapidus and Heiko Mahr. They were supported by many helpers and we had onlookers cheering us along the way.
This mentorship took us on a travel through modern art history beginning with Impressionism and ending at Contemporary Art. Each week, Alex and Heiko gave us an introduction to two art movements, either complementing or contrasting each other, and their respective main proponents. We had to pick our favorite painter for each movement and let them inspire us for our own work and create a blurred or unsharp image considering the aims and philosophy of the movement.
As you can guess, for me (and I daresay for the other participants as well) some movements created positive vibes and inspired me much (like Impressionism and Wabi-sabi) while others created friction (Futurism) or didn't speak to me at all (Dada). That's cool, because we did not only get to know the different movements, but also got to know ourselves a little better.
It was much to take in and digest and not all of us were able to stay on track, but had to slow down and let the acquired knowledge sink in, before we could go on to the next task and sometimes I had to put the cart before the horse and work backwards, but that's good, too.
