NEW MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY I am offering called:
Artistic Photography Mentorship - Looking at Subjects & Editing Differently (in conjunction with the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers run by Ron Clifford Robin Griggs Wood & Tamara Pruessner )
Rather than capturing subjects straight on and in the usual manners, this 3 week Mentorship will focus on capturing subjects in new or different angles or poses, doing series of edits that change the mood of the photo, and finally pulling both different angles and poses and doing a series of edits into the final assignment.
There will also an artistic element to all three lessons. Students will be asked to look at some examples of works from art history, and see how using an unusual pose changes the nature of the work, or gives it a different feel. Example, how Manet’s “Olympia” changed how people looked at nudes (no nudity though in this mentorship), or how Picasso and Braque through Cubism changed how we look at everyday objects.
Sign-ups will begin on Saturday July 20th, Noon Eastern time and run through Monday, July 22 at Noon Eastern time. In order to be considered, you must post your own photography publicly, and must sign-up under my original post, and state why you wish to be included in this mentorship, and indicate whether or not you have previously done any other mentorship offered on Google Plus. Spaces are limited to 20 participants. Once the deadline has passed, I will notify the individuals chosen for this mentorship via email, and will invite them to join the Mentorship Community. The actual mentorship will begin Friday, July 26th with the first assignment being posted to the Mentorship Community.
