For anyone who has read this far, consider mentoring someone else here (or more) ... some people don't even know where to start with their cameras and you could be the change they need in their lives. Even the smallest bit of knowledge can be passed on and you can create your mentorship in many different ways. Imagine the feeling of taking someone to their next level, paying forward the knowledge you've received and watching someone blossom with enthusiasm and accomplishment!

Blurs and Unsharp Photography: My Guided Play Album
At the beginning of May I entered into the world  of unfocus and unsharpness, abstract blurs, reflections, multiple /double exposures, montages, impressionist photography and  intentional camera movement.

I never realised how extensive the subject of blur really is!  As fresh new assignments were posted we wondered where the Champion of Blur on G+ our mentor - Alex Lapidus  would take us to next ...especially by the middle of the course as we thought that there couldn't be much more to learn BUT there was!

On the course we zoomed, panned, tilted, freelensed, rotated, moved with our feet and shot from moving vehicles many times using  long exposures and aided by our ND filters and speedlites.   

With the help of Alex guiding us through all of the assignments and all the encouraging comments from fellow mentees and mentor assistants we pushed our creativity into new realms of possibility.

With the exception of Alex it got to the stage where I forgot who was a mentor assistant and who was a mentee as we all were learning so much from each other and discovering new things.  

There was so much buzz and excitement in the private community especially when we started playing with vaseline, tights, plastic bags, pin hole cameras, fabric, lensbabies along with mobile phone photography apps and post editing software - it was a photographer's playground!

Finally I want to thank my fellow mentees and mentor assistants for making this such a worthwhile venture.  A lot of time goes into creating one of these mentorships and you really only benefit from the mentorship if you put your heart and soul into it.  My experience was so rewarding and well worth the amount of time given over solely to the assignments and the private community.  Thanks also goes out to Robin Griggs Wood Ron Clifford and Tamara Pruessner  for creating this wonderful learning platform G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers

Nothing in nature has a hard outline, but everything is seen against something else, and its outlines fade gently into something else, often so subtly that you cannot quite distinguish where one ends and the other begins. In this mingled decision and indecision, this lost and found, lies all the charm and mystery of nature.
