"Sometimes you look at a blurry photo and you wonder What the heck was I taking a picture of?

"Sometimes you look at a blurry photo and you wonder What the heck was I taking a picture of?!  But, when you set about to intentionally create a blurry photo you do it with the idea you are creating a mood, placing emphasis on an emotion, telling a story, or creating something completely abstract." ~ Rachel Ferris

Rachel shows us the exciting world that blurs can bring to imagery, from her mentorship time with Alex Lapidus. Great work, Rachel!

For anyone who has read this far, consider mentoring someone else here (or more) ... some people don't even know where to start with their cameras and you could be the change they need in their lives. Even the smallest bit of knowledge can be passed on and you can create your mentorship in many different ways. Imagine the feeling of taking someone to their next level, paying forward the knowledge you've received and watching someone blossom with enthusiasm and accomplishment!

Week 8: Plus Post

8 weeks ago marked the beginning of my journey into the blur, with my acceptance and participation in the Blurs and Unsharp Photography: Guided Play ran by Alex Lapidus  through the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers with Ron Clifford  and Robin Griggs Wood
Sometimes you look at a blurry photo and you wonder What the heck was I taking a picture of?!  But, when you set about to intentionally create a blurry photo you do it with the idea you are creating a mood, placing emphasis on an emotion, telling a story, or creating something completely abstract.  There are so many ways to create blur, and the mentorship with Alex at the helm provides a safe and nurturing environment to learn and share your successes, questions, and ideas.
Here I present my blurry journey – enjoy!
