For anyone who has read this far, consider mentoring someone else here (or more) ... some people don't even know where to start with their cameras and you could be the change they need in their lives. Even the smallest bit of knowledge can be passed on and you can create your mentorship in many different ways. For the last several weeks, I've had the lucky opportunity to participate in a +G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers class called How Do You See? that was led by Lauri Novak. It was a chance to delve into photography with an emphasis on viewing the the world a little differently. The focus on capturing the vision in camera and not editing was tough at first, but really improved my photography. I was reminded how important composition was and taking the time to get the image you want and not just hope you got "something."
These images are just a random sampling of the work I produced for the class. Most are not edited, of which I'm very proud. Too often I rely on set edits to boost my images.

And thank you Lauri Novak and all her "helpers" for this chance to see the world through some "upgraded" eyes.
