The ‘Photographing Flowers’ mentorship is ready for sign-ups!
This is a special program on how to photograph flowers artistically through the G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers. I will be taking on a handful of people for an 8 week on-line mentorship program which will include assignments, informative links, and informal yet informative and constructive discussions. Everyone must participate and it’s intended to be a safe and fun learning environment!. These are hands-on assignments. The first week is a greet and meet, get to know you bit, and the final week is for a final portfolio review. I will have weekly hangout sessions to discuss composition, any guidance and to keep the motivation going depending on the majority of the group's availability.
I have been photographing flowers for a few years now with dedication and passion that comes from a lifelong interest in gardening. I have always been in love with the beauty of flowers filled with color and in some cases with intoxicating fragrance. Photographing flowers had led me to a journey of personal discovery and happiness. I have learned so much about myself during the umpteen hours working with flowers. I learned that I have a creative soul which was unseen before this journey. I have a newfound exuberance for life. I marvel at little things like raindrops on petals or the beautiful glow of the afternoon sun on glorious blooms while others just pass by.
My goal as a mentor is to get people to slow down, unite with natural world and absorb the beauty of flowers, create a little oasis in this rapid, constantly demanding stressful daily life. There is no better way to escape this running-around even for a little than through a lens. I want to set people on a path of inspiration, hope and joy and love that comes from appreciation of nature around us. My goal is for my mentees to look at flowers with a different perspective, observe, admire, associate and create art that lasts far longer than the flower does..
Duration: This is an eight Week- assignment based Mentorship Please Note that In consideration to the labor day weekend in US, a break will occur from 2nd September to 7th September.
Assignments are due on Monday of each week and a new one posted on Saturday morning of the previous week to give a head start for weekend warriors (which would give 9 days rather than 7 days to complete).
PLEASE NOTE: The work submitted to the Community must be current, in other words, you are to capture images based on the weekly assignment during that time period.
Selections will begin July 13th 2016 for the mentorship beginning July 21st, 2016.
PLEASE READ THIS: This is NOT a total technical Photography mentorship, NOT a Photoshop mentorship entirely. This is to help you take more remarkable photographs by increasing your understanding of basic principles.
These are the selection criteria:
• You must be taking and posting photographs regularly here on G+ no less than three days between Public posts; more increases your chances of being selected. (The workshop itself will be private to the group selected except for the option of a public display album of your best work at the end.)
• You must be interactive here at G+, as you will be expected to participate in this program giving feedback and comments to others.
