Thanks for the kind words, Jenn, and for sharing your work from Camera Basics: Beyond Automatic 3 with us!  Jenn and her group have accomplished so much; while Robin continues to reshare some of the final albums from Pam Boling's Seeing Compositions mentorship, I (Alex) am going to pass along some of the work done in CB:BA3.

I also want to recognize the mentors from this team effort: new mentors Stephen Thackeray, Rachel Ferris, Gernot Glaeser, Darcee McCutcheon, Marilou Aballe, Alan Mason, cobalt please, John Getchel, Lena Konstantinova, Dawn Siadatan and Sharon Stone  did a fabulous job, along with our beloved "usual suspects" Heiko Mahr, Doug Welch, Richard Ball, Darla Hueske, Ellie Kennard, Linda Villers, Eric Raeber, Lou McCorkle and Ugo Cei!

For anyone who has read this far, consider mentoring someone else here (or more) ... some people don't even know where to start with their cameras and you could be the change they need in their lives. Even the smallest bit of knowledge can be passed on and you can create your mentorship in many different ways. Imagine the feeling of taking someone to their next level, paying forward the knowledge you've received and watching someone blossom with enthusiasm and accomplishment!

I just had the chance to join a G+ Mentorship programme  G+ Mentorship Program for Photographers  Camera Basics Beyond Automatic. I'd always wanted to dip my toe into "real" photography, instead of just experimenting on my own as I have done for years.  

This was a fantastic experience. With clear instructions. Supportive mentors and other mentees. Criticism when it was needed. That was very important for me.  

If you get a chance to join a mentorship pitched at the right level for your needs you should certainly go ahead.

I'm certainly not as bad as I thought I was. And neither is my camera.

This was an image taken just after I posted my final album. There's a similar one in the album, but I went back to check the first one hadn't been a fluke... If I hadn't learned anything else, I've learned about spot metering and manual focus. Two things I had completely ignored. Robin Griggs Wood
